Bridgeland Main Street: Construction Update + Temporary Parking Changes
The Bridgeland Main Streets project is moving into its third season of construction starting the week of April 14, 2025. Construction is expected to be completed by fall 2025. This phase will include operational and streetscape improvements along 1 Ave N.E. This construction season, work will occur across multiple blocks at a time, progressing in stages along 1 Ave N.E. from 8A St. to 4 St. N.E.
The below map shows the first stage of work and the detour plan for 1 Avenue N.E.
Please note, construction is variable, and the schedule is subject to change depending on factors such as complexity, weather, supply chain, and access. We appreciate your patience while crews are working in your area.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT DURING CONSTRUCTION:
The construction work hours for the Main Streets Program are Monday to Saturday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., with occasional work on weekends, weekdays, and evenings/overnight as required. For ongoing updates on construction activities, parking, and detours, please visit Calgary.ca/bridgelandmainstreet
During construction, here's what you can expect:
Temporary traffic detours, barriers, ramps, and accesses will ensure pedestrians and cyclists can travel safely through the area and still access their destinations.
Continued access to Bridgeland businesses - we will work directly with businesses to minimize the impacts of construction to their property as much as possible.
Temporary closure of some parking, roads, and potential road detours. Traffic will be maintained during construction, by way of local detours.
Temporary relocation of transit stops, Canada Post mailboxes, and/or Calgary Parking Authority pay machines.
An increase in on-site construction activity, including construction crews, vehicles and heavy equipment, and an increase in noise and vibration throughout construction.
