8th Ave NE Bridge - East End Drainage Rehabilitation

Starting April 23rd, 2025, the City of Calgary will begin drainage rehabilitation work at the east end of the 8th Avenue NE Bridge over Deerfoot Trail. This is a short project with work anticipated to be mostly completed by the end of May 2025.

The scope of work will involve periodic single lane closures on 8th Ave NE during off-peak hours (between 9:00am and 3:30pm) to accommodate minor road modifications and repairs to the erosion at the east end of the bridge on the slope adjacent Deerfoot Trail. Construction crews will be on site daily from 7:00am – 5:00pm. To help minimize the impacts to local traffic and residents, flaggers will be on stie to direct the alternating flow of traffic throughout the projects duration.
