Inglewood Transit Stop Optimization
The City of Calgary Transit Service Planning Group is working to better optimize bus routes and bus stop locations along the 9th Ave SE corridor from 8 Street to 15 Street SE.
Beginning in early March 2025, a total of 6 stops along the corridor will be removed, resulting in more reliable service at key hubs.

What is Bus Stop Optimization and Why Are These Changes Being Made?
Bus stop optimization is a process for thoughtful removal and/or consolidation of bus stops to maintain or improve convenient access and provide a faster and more reliable transit service.
In many locations, bus stops are too close together impacting the speed of buses each time bus has to accelerate and decelerate to serve the stop.
Bus stop optimization can help speed up buses and improve the reliability of the service.
There are increased opportunities to add transit shelter or benches to improve stop amenities for customers.
There will be fewer bus stops in the corridor which will make additional curbside space available for other uses, including seasonal patios and street parking.
They improve traffic travel times, as delay waiting for buses to pull in and out is reduced for motorists.
