ENMAX Utility Work: Phase 2 Bridgeland Main Street
The City of Calgary requires ENMAX Power to relocate existing electrical infrastructure to accommodate the Bridgeland Main Streets project.
Modifications will include burying overhead power lines and installing associated utility equipment along 1 Avenue Between 4 Street to 6 Street NE. Please refer to the below map for more information.
Currently, this work is anticipated to commence in July 2024, and last approximately 8 weeks. ENMAX has already begun sharing notices and having conversations with affected businesses and properties in advance of this work.
We understand that this work may create some inconveniences, and we thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we deliver on our commitment to provide reliable power to all Calgarians.

What to Expect:
Every effort is made to minimize the effect work has on daily activities, and adhere to all applicable safety standards and bylaws.
Phase 1 - Site assessment, surveying, and utility locating:
Access to fenced yards or property may be required. If you have concerns with crews entering your property, please contact our Customer Relations Team at 403-514-3990.
Phase 2 – Construction:
ENMAX and contractor vehicles, hydrovac trucks and associated utility equipment will be on site.
Construction barricades and/or safety fencing.
Project and/or road signage.
Limited and/or restricted street parking and access to driveways at times.
Limited and/or restricted pedestrian access near work areas.
Noise and/or minor vibrations during construction.
Trees growing too close to overhead lines may be trimmed for safety.
Planned power outages.
Access to businesses/residences will be maintained
Phase 3 – Site restoration:
Areas affected by the project will be repaired once work is complete (weather permitting).
Ongoing maintenance of repaired areas on private property will be the responsibility of the homeowner/property manager.
If your property is affected by construction or planned power outages for this project, you will receive further notification.
Additional information – utility right-of-ways (URW):
Some of this work will occur in URW’s which are registered easements on private land set aside to allow access to utilities, including underground electrical cables. Please ensure URW’s are free of obstruction and easily accessible.
