The City has identified a failed piece of infrastructure in the wastewater sewer system that has resulted in back-ups in some homes along 20A Street S.E. This piece of infrastructure needs to be replaced to ensure the reliability of the wastewater collection system in the area.

Construction will begin Thursday, October 12, 2023 and is expected to be complete Saturday, October 14, 2023. Work will take place from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

What work is being done?

The embankment is being built to facilitate the construction of the pedestrian tunnel at 72 Avenue S.E.

The traffic calming curbs along 18 Street and 66 Avenue SE in Lynnwood received a colourful update thanks to local artist Mike Hooves. 

This traffic calming infrastructure was installed earlier in the year thanks to the Millican Ogden Community Associations’ partnership with the Federation of Calgary Communities ActivateYYC Bump Outs and Parklets micro-grant program. Bump outs are designed to narrow intersections, calming traffic by making turning radii tighter for cars as well as shortening crossing distances for pedestrians.
