Bridgeland Main Street: Phase One Update

The Bridgeland Main Streets project is moving into the second season of construction, and we want to provide you with an outline of the immediate work and what you can expect during the construction season.

Phase one includes streetscape improvements and infrastructure upgrades along Edmonton Tr from Memorial Drive to 2 Avenue N.E. as well as Gateway features on Memorial Drive beneath the 4 Ave flyover and at the triangle where 4 Street meets Edmonton Trai.

2023 Community Cleanup Dates

Community Cleanup events save residents a trip to the landfill for items that do not fit in their waste and recycling carts or for residents who do not have access to cart service. This service is free of charge to all Calgarians.

Please visit the City of Calgary Community Cleanup Website or reach out to your community association directly for the most up-to-date schedule of events.

Forest Lawn Park Redevelopment

The Forest Lawn Community Association has partnered with the Parks Foundation to bring a new amenity to the area! The design will be accessible for all ages and a variety of user groups. The park will offer opportunities for play, rejuvenation, gathering, and physical activity. New amenities in the park might include a sport court, seating, and community gathering area, and pathways. The hope is to begin work on this park this summer.

We are looking to showcase a diverse group of people that live, work, and volunteer in Ward 9, including people with different cultures, abilities, backgrounds, and life experiences.

If you or someone you know feels a passionate connection to your Ward 9 community and is willing to share a little bit about yourself for an opportunity to be highlighted through our various Ward 9 communication channels, we want to hear from you!

Ramsay Community Soccer

Ramsay Community Soccer is a volunteer-run program that provides non-competitive soccer for players ages 3 to 8. Age groups will be divided depending on the number of children registered. This is a fun program intended for kids to make new friends and learn a little about soccer at the same time. This league is sponsored by the Ramsay Recreation Committee and Community Association. Registration is now open until April 14th.

Erin Woods Community Fridge Information Night

EWCA is currently looking into the possibility of putting in a community fridge at the Hall to complement their Little Free Pantry for nonperishable items. Community Fridges are spaces where anyone can access free, quality food that would otherwise go to waste, connect with others, learn about the environmental impact of food waste, and share knowledge and skills.

64th Annual Inglewood Community Winter Carnival

Join the Inglewood Communuty Assocition for their 64th Annual Winter Carnival.

Saturday, February 25
1:00 PM to 4:00 PM

The Winter Carnival is the ICA's longest-standing event. After a breif hiatis during Covid, they look forward to bringing the community back together for it this year.

The event will include:

Bingo, crafts, a cash bar and concession in the main hall
A petting zoo between 1 PM and 3 PM
Wheel-chair accessible hay rides between 2 PM and 4 PM
A fire pit – BYO Chair
Kiddie skate on the pond rink + Family Skate on the field rink
Shinny games on the main rink – first come, first served sign-up day of
Crokicurl – first come, first served sign-up day of
Hourly door prize draws with great prizes from local Inglewood and Ramsay businesses.

This is an indoor and outdoor event that is open to all Inglewood residents. Entry is free.

Studies show kids eat better when they are able to touch and cook their food. Learning cooking skills also helps boost their overall confidence.

Register kids aged 8-12 for this FREE 8-week cooking class starting Friday, February 10th 1.30-3.30 pm. Priority is given to families in Great Forest Lawn living on a low income.
