Construction Update – Belvedere Feeder Main Phase 2B (completion date Extended)
Construction on the East Belvedere Water Feeder Main Phase 2B is progressing with approximately 70 per cent of the feeder main installed, however the completion date has been extended. As a result, sections of 100 Street SE will remain closed until May 2025.
This new feeder main is an essential piece of water infrastructure that will bring clean, reliable drinking water to future development within the East Belvedere community. PME Construction Corporation has been executing the construction on behalf of Truman Development Corporation in partnership with The City of Calgary.
Schedule
Phase 2B, which is the section of new feeder main located 300 metres south of 17 Avenue SE running north on 100 Street SE to Garden Road Seventh Day Adventist Church, began construction mid-September 2024. We anticipate the installation of the feeder main will be complete by the end of March 2025.
Construction of the new asphalt road is scheduled to start in April 2025 and is anticipated to be completed by the end of May 2025.
The installation of the feeder main south of 17 Ave SE is complete along with the new gravel road, which is now open to traffic.
The trenchless drill segment for the installation of the feeder main under 17 Ave S.E. is also complete.
Construction Impacts
100 Street SE at 17 Ave SE will be one-way northbound only to provide access to Mountain View Funeral Home and Cemetery and Cobblestone Garden Centre from the northbound lane. until late March 2025, with the exception of a few days, where northbound access from 17 Ave will be closed due to the installation of a valve chamber in that location. During these few days, access is maintained to Mountain View Funeral Home from 8 Ave SE and 16 Ave SE.
100 Street SE access from the north for local traffic will be allowed.
Traffic patterns will change as site construction progresses. Please pay attention to signs on site.
Traffic will be detoured to 84 Street SE; signs will be in place to guide motorists.
The contractor has started and will continue communication with all the residents and businesses located on 100 Street SE that will be directly impacted by the road closure(s) during construction.
Please pay attention to the signage on site and stay away from the work area.
