Journeys to Reconciliation - Greater Forest Lawn
Residents of Greater Forest Lawn are invited to gather with their neighbours for guided conversations about truth, justice and reconciliation.
A course for Greater Forest Lawn
The Journeys to Reconciliation course was designed with extensive engagement from residents of Greater Forest Lawn. This Indigenous-led course has been customized to investigate the interests expressed during honest conversations with your neighbours. Together, we will confront challenging topics and grow as a community.
Begin your journey with the truth
More and more Canadians are learning the truthful histories of our country and gaining understanding about how our society was formed. The Journeys to Reconciliation course brings forward stories and concepts about Indigenous ways, colonialism, residential schools and contemporary Indigenous interaction that will resonate differently with everyone. The journey to reconciliation is personal, and this course will meet you where you are with insights and next steps to help you on your way.
What to expect at the Journeys to Reconciliation course
The course is two hours long and facilitated by Adrian Wolfleg (from Siksika), Charlotte Yellowhorn McLeod (from Piikani), and Michelle Robinson (Dene resident of greater Forest Lawn). Course content is delivered in a variety of styles and includes interactive discussion, presentations and hands-on experiences.
While course content was developed specifically for residents of Greater Forest Lawn, everyone is welcome to attend.
Refreshments will be served at the course and everyone who attends will be entered into a draw for great door prizes!
If you have any questions about the course, email Troy Patenaude any time at troy@crossriver.ca.
