Canadian Pacific Remembrance Day Ceremony
More than 33,000 CP employees served in World War I and II, and Canadian Pacific continues to commemorate them with its annual Remembrance Day ceremony. This year’s ceremony takes place online on November 11, so all members of the public can attend this ceremony virtually. The online ceremony will still feature the CP locomotive whistle sounding at 11:01 a.m. and a moment of silence. The service begins at 10:45 a.m.

The Hangar Flight Museum Remembrance Day Ceremony
The Hangar Flight Museum’s Remembrance Day ceremony is a popular one. This year it has shifted online and the ceremony will be live streamed by CTV on November 11. The ceremony begins at 10:57 a.m. and runs until 11:30 a.m.
The Field of Crosses
Each year, more than 3,400 white crosses are displayed along Memorial Drive to symbolize the thousands of soldiers from Southern Alberta who have died in action in various conflicts since the Boer War. Visit the site at any point to read the names, ranks, regiments, date of death and age of death of these soldiers. For a truly moving experience, visit at sunrise or sunset for the flag raising ceremony that takes place daily from November 1 to 10. You can also watch the virtual Remembrance Day service on November 11, which will be broadcast live from the Field of Crosses on Global.

Remembrance Day at the Military Museums
This formal service that usually takes place outside of the museum will be moved to a Facebook live stream this year. CTV will also be airing the service online and on television. The service begins at 10:20 a.m. on November 11. The museum also invites everyone to visit during Veterans Week running from Nov 1 to 10 to see the current exhibit Untold Stories: They Never Talked About It, which commemorates the 75th anniversary of the end of the Second World War.
