Join a Youth Central Leadership Committee

Youth Central is accepting applications for our youth leadership committees, including the Mayor’s Youth Council.

Are you a young person aged 12-18 looking to make a positive impact in your community and develop your leadership skills? Consider getting involved with the Mayor's Youth Council or the other leadership programs available through Youth Central.

Some of the committees include:

Calgary Youth Foundation (deadline: September 11).
Distributes funds to youth driven projects, raises funds through presentations to potential donors

Mayor's Youth Council (deadline: September 11)
Provides youth the opportunity to create a city where the youth perspective contributes to a strong and sustainable community.

Youth Are Awesome - Blogger (deadline: September 25)
Provides youth with an opportunity to write about topics they care about.

Youth of Distinction Awards Planning (deadline: September 25)
Plan our annual Youth of Distinction Awards ceremony and choose the finalists and recipient in each of our 9 categories.

Youth Volunteer Corps Steering Committee (deadline: September 25)
Work on initiatives to improve the YVC program, including event planning, YVC project improvements, and getting to know other YVC volunteers.
