57th Annual Pathway and River Cleanup - Volunteers Needed
The 57th Annual Pathway and River Cleanup activates thousands of volunteers who generously donate their time to help clean up Calgary.
The 2024 Pathway and River Cleanup is May 3 – 5, 2024.
For citizens unable to participate in the event but still wanting to show pride in their parks, the City offers free TLC Cleanup Kits - available for pickup at the Inglewood Bird Sanctuary, between Wednesdays and Sundays.
Volunteer Registration
Volunteer registration is open until April 1, 2024.
To volunteer for the Pathway and River Cleanup, you must be:
12 years or older
Accompanied by a parent or guardian (if you're between 12 and 17 years old)
Physically fit
Willing to get dirty
Able to commit to three hours of clean up on one of the three event days
All Pathway and River Cleanup volunteers must be registered.
Please review the following before registering as a volunteer:
You are encouraged to register as a group (minimum of 10 people) with a designated leader. If you do not have a group, you can choose a location and join a team led by Calgary Parks staff.
You may request a specific cleanup location at the time of registration. We will do our best to accommodate specific location requests, but cannot guarantee preferred placement.
If you do not have a preferred cleanup location, one will be assigned to you.
All registered groups are welcome to pick whichever day of the three-day event works best for them. Your group volunteer day will be confirmed with you prior to the event.
Individual volunteers' cleanup day is on Sunday, May 5.
