Sixth Annual Calgary Climate Symposium - October 21–25, 2024.
Join the Conversation at the Calgary Climate Symposium on October 21–25, 2024.
The City is hosting its sixth annual Calgary Climate Symposium to continue the conversation about climate change, how it affects Calgarians and what we can do together to build a more resilient city. Connect with community leaders, climate experts & more for a series of unique learning opportunities.
The symposium is a FREE event, open to the public, that offers a total of ten learning sessions. This year’s Calgary Climate Symposium will explore:
The effects of climate hazards on Calgarians, our city and the natural environment.
How Calgary can position itself for a low carbon future and leverage economic opportunities.
How our communities can take collective action to reduce the impacts of climate change and build a more resilient city.
This event is a great opportunity for the public to expand their knowledge of how climate change affects our communities and to become empowered to take action to reduce the impacts. Each year, the event sees thousands of Calgarians attending the learning sessions.
An opening ceremony to kick off the event will take place at 10 a.m. on October 21 at the Central Public Library and includes speeches from Mayor Gondek, Deb Hamilton, General Manager, Planning and Development Services, Lorna Crowshoe, Sr. Indigenous Policy Strategist, City and Regional Planning, and Dawn Smith, (Manager, Climate Governance and Reporting.
