Connect with Birds - a self-guided 3D virtual TOUR of the Inglewood Bird Santuary
Join Calgary Parks at the Inglewood Bird Sanctuary on May 13 between 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. for Connect with Birds, a multi-exhibit celebration of World Migratory Bird Day.
Download the free indigiTRAILS app to take a free self-guided 3D virtual tour of the Winged Wisdom trail, showcasing Indigenous stories of Birds in Treaty 7 Territory. You’ll also learn more about this year’s theme: Water- sustaining bird life.
During your visit, you are also invited to share your thoughts and feedback on Connect: Calgary’s Parks Plan to help us shape the future of our city’s parks and green spaces as we develop the next 20-year strategic plan for Calgary’s parks.
You’ll need to install the indigiTRAILS app and have GPS or location services turned on to experience the self-guided virtual tour. For a more enjoyable experience, we recommend you do this prior to arriving at the event.
The Inglewood Bird Sanctuary and Nature Centre have been providing migratory birds with a place to rest their wings since 1929. That's more than 80 years of conservation!
To date, 270 species of birds, 21 species of mammals and 347 species of plants have been recorded at the Sanctuary and Nature Centre by members of the public, volunteers and staff.
