YYC Matters 2023 - Share Your Voice Ahead of the Provincial Election
YYCmatters.ca helps keep Calgary’s priorities top-of-mind during the upcoming provincial election. Voting day is set for May 29 and it can be easy for the issues at hand to get lost in the fray of political campaigning. YYC Matters allows Calgarians to share their thoughts and learn more about the most pressing issues facing the city today.
The City is asking that you keep Calgarians and City priorities top of mind when candidates ask for your ideas and priorities before voting in the election. Please let candidates know that if elected, their government can support Calgarians by:
Affordable housing – Access to safe, affordable housing is foundational to the well-being of Calgarians and to community prosperity. There is a need for more investment in safe and affordable housing. This investment is needed in all areas of our city to support those facing homelessness and for those who struggle to afford housing within their income levels in all areas of the city.
A vibrant downtown – Calgary’s future success relies on our downtown being a place where people want to live, work, visit, set up, and expand business. The City is seeking provincial support to help us transform our downtown.
Safe and dependable public transit – The City is seeking provincial partnerships to deliver safe and dependable public transit service and critical transit infrastructure.
As part of the campaign, Calgarians can share their perspectives on their top municipal priorities and how the Province can support Calgary by accessing the YYC Matters Community Voices tool between April 27 - May 5, 2023. Results will be shared at YYCmatters.ca.
