Phase II - Greater Forest Lawn Communities Local Area Planning
We’re currently in the second phase of the Greater Forest Lawn Communities Local Area Planning project and some great conversations and engagement have already taken place with working groups and local community associations.
Opportunities for the public to get involved are open from January 17 to February 12, 2023.
Through this phase of engagement, we’re discussing the draft Vision and Core Values for the Greater Forest Lawn communities, different types of growth (small-scale and moderate-to large-scale), and potential focus areas for growth and change.
Input shared through previous engagement on the Greater Forest Lawn Communities’ Core Values, and existing policy and land use (zoning) were key considerations in determining the proposed potential focus areas for growth in the area.
There are a variety of ways for people to get involved in this phase of engagement including: providing input online, completing the engagement booklet that’s mailed out (and can also be found at a local engagement booklet pick-up location), or by joining a virtual and/or in-person engagement session.
Visit Calgary.ca/GFLplan to learn more about the project and join the conversation.

PROJECT BACKGROUND
We’re working together to create a local area plan for the Greater Forest Lawn Communities, which includes: Albert Park/Radisson Heights, Applewood Park, Dover, Erin Woods, Forest Heights, Forest Lawn, Forest Lawn Industrial, Penbrooke Meadows, Red Carpet, Southview, 09Q, and a portion of Golden Triangle.
Your feedback, as well as feedback from your neighbours and other community members, will help create a local area plan to help ensure change happens in the right ways in the Greater Forest Lawn Communities.
A local area plan sets the vision for the evolution of the area over the next 30 years. It provides direction on future development and investment that residents, landowners, builders/developers, City Planners and Council can commonly refer to when new development and investment ideas are proposed.
