Job Posting - Constituent & Communication Liaison - Ward 9
The role of Constituent & Communication Liaison is an opportunity for a team player who is keen to get involved in city building and who excels in customer service. This role works directly with the Ward 9 Councillor and team to:
correspond regularly with constituents about ongoing projects and issues;
liaise with community associations and other neighbourhood members;
communicate ward 9 information and news through social media, newsletters, events, graphics and videos;
As the ideal candidate, you have a passion for community- and city-building. You are skilled at writing and public speaking and you are comfortable working alone and as part of a team. You are a people-person, who deals with others in a consistently positive, productive and respectful fashion, as well as a long-term problem-solver. You are confident in your relationship management skills and are able to collaborate and find consensus with various interested parties. You also have a communications background and are skilled at engaging on various social media platforms, are able to create graphics, video content, and other visual material to inform residents and groups about varies issues.
Current Hours
37.5 hours per week + community meetings & events as required (Some evenings and weekends)
Roles and responsibilities
Constituent Liaison
Respond to citizen calls, emails, webmail, and letters
Research and follow up to understand issues and complaints
Information search or triage with City Administration and/or Civic Partners
Report back to the team on issues proactively
Use Dynamics 365 to track constituent issues and resolutions
Community Association Liaison
Attend community association and community group meetings as the Ward 9 representative
Update community associations with new work from the ward
Investigate and help resolve issues for community associations
Communications
Create and send general and community specific updates through Dynamics 365 or Mailchimp
Manage email lists
Manage website updates (gccarra.ca)
Write and/or edit newsletter articles for print
Possibility of managing bigger projects like the Ward 9 Dream Network or the Ward 9 Recreation Map
Social Media
Manage Ward 9 social media accounts
Monitor accounts and respond to questions and concerns from constituents
Create interesting visual and graphic content for social media
Prep, record, and edit informational videos for various platforms
